Het Pop Arts Festival is een initiatief van Theater Bellevue, De Krakeling en Ostadetheater en presenteert het nieuwste op het gebied van poppen- en objecttheater uit binnen- en buitenland. Dansers, mimers, acteurs en beeldend kunstenaars spelen de zalen plat met groteske poppen, bizarre animaties en indringende miniaturen. Een nieuwe generatie theatermakers gaat op zoek naar cross-overs met de esthetiek van beeldende kunst, hedendaagse muziek en animatie- en gameontwerp. Ze verdwijnen niet meer achter hun poppen, maar staan samen met hun vreemde wezens en objecten manifest op het podium. Pop Arts 2013 introduceert culinair objecttheater. Kleedkamers vol groente, fruit en keukengerei! Pop Arts viert haar 5-jarig bestaan in 2014 en pakt 10 dagen lang extra groots uit van 1 t/m 9 februari 2014.
 

Beyond mere puppet theatre.
The Puppet Arts Festival is founded by Bellevue Theatre, Youth Theatre de Krakeling and Ostade Theatre and presents the latest concerning puppet and object theatre, oriented both nationally and internationally. Dancers, mime-players, actors and visual artists take over, staging grotesque puppets, bizarre animations and penetrating miniatures.
A new generation of theatre makers are in search of cross-overs with the esthetics of the visual arts, contemporary music and animation and game designs. They no longer hide beyond their puppets, but manifestly join their alien creatures and objects on stage. This year the introduction of an new genre: culinary object theater. Dressing rooms filled with vegetables, fruit and kitchen utensils!
Pop Arts Festival 2014 is a special edition (the festival exists 5 years) and takes place from the 1st unitl the 9th of February 2014.
